Solid-state lasers for science and high-tech production

Established a little over a year ago, SLS Prime Technology has become a noticeable industry actor owing to a team of specialists with impressive experience and a thoughtful approach to creating products. This approach is based on the desire for balance in everything: between the laconic design and the ability to adapt to a wide range of tasks, between innovative and time-tested solutions, between reliability and high performance.

“SLS Prime Technology aims to design reliable and practical lasers to allow professionals focus on their tasks instead of maintenance routine,” says Chair at the company’s Board of Directors Yevgeny Gulevich. “Products of SLS Prime Technology are used in such strategic areas as research, nuclear energy and microelectronics, which proves their reliability and efficiency. Our company seeks to be a leading manufacturer of laser systems for these industries.”.

The company will present several groups of products at Photonics. World of Lasers and Optics 2025.

Pulsed Nd:YAG lasers

SLS Prime Technology offers a wide range of pulsed Nd:YAG lasers with lamp and diode pumping, generating nanosecond pulses with energies from 100 mJ to 4 J

Several of these models will be presented at the company’s stand:

AZURITEis an extremely practical and unpretentious laser with diode pumping, which does not require water cooling and provides the generation of laser pulses with 160 mJ output and a repetition rate of up to 30 Hz.

GRAPHITE are lasers with lamp pumping, providing the best combination of energy and pulse repetition rate in their class. The line includes four models, providing power output energy from 230 mJ at a frequency of 100 Hz to 750 mJ at a frequency of 20 Hz.

The lasers can be used either independently or as part of flexibly configurable laser systems based on PGOs, generating wavelength-tunable radiation in the range from 0.2 to 20 µm.

Picosecond lasers

Having offered a wide range of nanosecond lasers to the market during its first year of operation, SLS Prime Technology began developing lasers with femto- and picosecond pulse durations in 2024.

The OBSIDIAN laser presented at the Photonics 2025 exhibition is the first step in this direction.

OBSIDIAN is a family of compact lasers that provide 300-500 ps long, ~2 mJ SLM pulses at wavelengths ranging from IR to UV

High peak power (>2 MW) at pulse repetition rates up to 100 Hz makes the laser suitable for applications such as pollution monitoring, DNA analysis, supercontinuum generation, and many others. The small size is a desirable feature for integrating lasers into industrial and medical systems.

Due to its flexible design, OBSIDIAN can be adapted to higher power applications and also features active Q-modulation.

Individual solutions

It is worth noting that SLS Prime Technology goes beyond the basic laser models presented in the product catalogue. The company actively offers its customers solutions developed according to individual specifications and requirements.

In these projects, SLS Prime Technology serves as both a manufacturer and a project and technological partner ready to offer unique engineering solutions with due account of every specific requirement of its customers.

Visitors of the SLS Prime Technology stand FD020 at Photonics 2025 will see the available laser equipment and discuss individual solutions for any scientific and technological tasks.

Laser interferometer FTI-100 from Diffraction at Photonics. World of Lasers and Optics 2025

Diffraction, a Russian company based in Novosibirsk, makes laser interferometers Fizeau FTI-100 for precision control of flat, spherical and aspherical optical surfaces. The devices are used in metrology departments, laboratories, optical production, universities and research institutes.

Laser interferometers FTI made by the company are listed in the State Register of Measuring Instruments.

The interferometers are compatible with a standard 102 mm bayonet mount (Zygo, MPF, CVI) and, at the customer's request, can be equipped with flat and spherical (diffraction) standards, as well as correctors for monitoring aspherical surfaces.

The interferometer can also be equipped with a measuring fixture or a motorized system for measuring the radius of curvature of optical parts.

Analysis and computer modeling have shown that the intrinsic (hardware) errors in measuring the wavefront shape do not exceed 3 nm at a field of 102 mm, and the distortion (geometric distortions of the image) does not exceed 0.002%. The interferometer guidance system provides an error of no worse than 1–2 arc sec.

The developed software package allows remote control of all the device systems both in manual and automatic modes for measuring the surface shape of optical products and graphical representation of information.

FTI-100 features:

  • regular bayonet mount for standards (4-inch);
  • operation in both vertical and horizontal positions;
  • wide-angle visual adjustment and tuning system;
  • control of aspherical optics using synthesized holograms;
  • remote control of all units of the device from a computer;
  • complete with high-quality diffraction standard lenses for testing spherical and aspherical surfaces;
  • delivery: optical unit, phase shift unit with a unit for mounting and adjusting standards, computer with pre-installed software.

Fast nanometric contactless control of the surface shape of manufactured optical parts is relevant in modern optical production.

The Russian industry does not mass-produce universal interferometers able to control both spherical and aspherical surfaces of optical parts.

The existing interferometer products of foreign companies are expensive.

At Photonics 2025, Diffraction will present a universal laser interferometer FTI-100PS for precision control of optical products in laboratories of optical industry enterprises with an output beam diameter of 102 mm, a radiation source with a wavelength of 632.8 nm (HeNe laser), adjustable magnification of the object up to 6x, a variable phase shift unit, a control computer and software (SW) for remote control of the interferometer and analysis of interferograms. The software supports algorithms for calculating the wave front phase from interferograms obtained with a phase shift and from a single interferogram.

At the exhibition, you can see the interferometer at work at the company’s stand. An experienced engineer will tell you about intricacies of the device's operation, and help you choose the right equipment.

Diffraction celebrated its 15th anniversary in 2024. Our devices are being successfully used at many Russian enterprises and entities. The demand for laser interferometers has been actively growing in recent years.
